Sovereignty the Video Game Project
Branding + Illustration
Designer Chris Rodriguez and I collaborated on a dark fantasy video game project called Sovereignty. Together we were able to immerse users with the power of pixel art and storytelling.
I’ve had the responsibility of systemizing social media posts, gaming assets, and NFT artworks that tied with this game. I feel very proud challenging myself with an art style I was not familiar with. This was built in Web3.
As you’ll navigate through this project, you’ll go on an epic quest just like we did.
Social Media
A significant aspect of promoting the game involved captivating illustrations and compelling storytelling shared on Twitter in the lead-up to the final release. This strategic approach ignited excitement among followers, providing them with a compelling reason to anticipate the game's launch. Our efforts extended to creating illustrations that alluded to elements of the game, with support of an awe-inspiring trailer. Here’s a post.
The Interface
Chris meticulously crafted the interface, which blended seamlessly with the brand and marketing material. In order for users to play, users had to use Metamask in order to verify their wallets. They used ethereum. As a creative, it meant a lot to see people all over the world empower and support my creative efforts.
The Game
Chris meticulously crafted the interface, employing dark screens and a medieval font to evoke a sense of fantasy throughout the user experience. Organizing information in a user-friendly manner was no small feat, but Chris certainly took on that challenge. My contribution primarily focused on designing icons and tiles to enhance the game's visual appeal and usability.
Video Game Icons and Tiles
The development of the video game required an extensive library of icons and tile assets, serving as the cornerstone of Sovereignty's entire world.
Customizable Characters
Below are a snippets that barely scratch the surface of these customizable profiles designed to enrich the gaming experience. The extensive list of assets included clothing, facial expressions, weapons, headpieces, and hairstyles, each meticulously crafted to create to highly detailed artworks. With this diverse array of assets, players could create over 500+ unique characters, adding depth and diversity to the game.
